HQ8D IOTA NA-223 14-20 & 22-27 JULY 2013

HQ8D – Vivorillos Cay, NA-223

Dan HQ8D is underway again to Vivorillos NA-223. This will be his last activity from here.  QSL manager, Dwayne KD4POJ, details the plan below:

It’s going to be a split operation. Part one will be a 3-4 days operation.  Dan’s plan is to start out with CW and then go to SSB, with a possibility of trying some RTTY. Nothing definite on the RTTY but it’s a possibility. Part two, since there is no facilities on the Island, they will have to stop after the 4^th day to return to the main land to resupply…fuel, water and food. He will then return to do another 4 day operation. Of course things might change depending on the Honduran Navy’s needs. Dan will most likely work CW 2-3 up and 5-10 up for SSB, I am not sure about RTTY but would guess its also going to be at least 2 up.

After NA-223, he will be QRV for the IOTA contest from Cochinos NA-160 as HQ3W.
Of further interest, Dan mentions he is planning to activate Tigre Isl NA-060, but no firm dates as yet.
